Host in the welcome area of “Offener Prozess – ein Dokumentationszentrum zum NSU-Komplex in Sachsen” (m/f/d/*)
Place of work: Chemnitz (20 hours/week, from 15.05.2026 or as soon as possible)
Offener Prozess gGmbH operates the first documentation center on the NSU complex in Chemnitz.
We see ourselves as a place of education, remembrance and confrontation with right-wing extremist movements with a focus on coming to terms with the NSU complex in Germany. Our aim is to focus on the perspectives of those affected, to demand social responsibility and to bring about political and civic change.
In 2026, the documentation center on the NSU complex is to be established as a regional and national place of discourse, take up current social debates, offer them a space and derive measures for society from them.

Your tasks
- Reception and support: You are in the welcome area and are the point of contact for visitors. You are available to them as a dialog partner for any concerns. You support individuals and groups in challenging situations during their visit to the exhibition. You will also provide low-threshold information about the Open Process, our events and other services offered by the Documentation Center.
- Maintaining the welcome area: As a central employee on site, you play a key role in shaping the atmosphere of the facility. You pay attention to the needs of the visitors and are also responsible, for example, for purchasing and preparing the free refreshments (fruit and drinks).
- Teamwork: You will work closely with the security staff, mediators, art scouts, event management and building services. You will support the organization, preparation and implementation of events and educational formats in the welcome area and in the exhibition.
- Service management: You are the point of contact for service providers, employees and freelancers in emergencies, making decisions and documenting them. You will be trained to do this as part of a training course.
Your profile
- Completed training in social or service professions or in a related field
- Organizational skills, punctuality, ability to work in a team and high resilience
- Strong oral communication skills and knowledge of active listening to stimulate reflection processes
- Experience in working with various target groups
- Empathy, situational awareness and composure in challenging situations
- Openness to awareness concepts and anti-discrimination work
- Interest in contemporary historical and socio-political topics, especially in the context of the NSU complex, and the willingness to familiarize yourself with this complex of topics
- Willingness to work on weekends and occasionally in the evening
- Experience in the hospitality and gastronomy sector is a great advantage
- Language skills (e.g. English, Turkish, Arabic or other) are an advantage
